The J. J. Adeneuer winery is located in the community of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German Ahr wine growing region. The traditional house has been in family ownership for over 500 years. In 1984 the brothers Frank and Marc Adeneuer took over the business from their aunt. The vineyards cover 12.5 hectares of vineyards in the communities of Ahrweiler, Heimersheim, Neuenahr and Walporzheim. They are planted with 85%Pinot Noir, 10% Early Pinot Noir and 5%Pinot Blanc. They are cultivated according to the rules of integrated plant protection with complete renunciation of insecticides as well as very little use of herbicides. Instead, weeds are controlled mechanically (understock brush, share)
The Adeneuers are committed to the cultivation of puristic Pinot Noir, which comes from different terroirs with slate soils, sandy loamy loess and volcanic basalt soils. The individual sites Alte Lay, Färkammer and Kräuterberg (Walporzheim), Rosenthal (Ahrweiler) and Sonnenberg (Neuenahr) become VDP.GROSS WAXES® are vinified. After careful ageing in barriques with a low percentage of new wood, the red wines are bottled without filtration. Weissburgunder sparkling wines are also produced after classic bottle fermentation. The winery is a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
