The J. J. Adeneuer winery is located in the municipality of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German wine-growing region of Ahr. The traditional house has been in the family for over 500 years. In 1984, the brothers Frank and Marc Adeneuer took over the business from their aunt. The vineyards cover 12.5 hectares in the communities of Ahrweiler, Heimersheim, Neuenahr and Walporzheim. Until recently, only red wines were vinified, but now the portfolio also includes white wines. They cultivate 85% Pinot Noir, 10% Frühburgunder and 5% Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc). The vineyards are cultivated according to the rules of integrated pest management, with complete avoidance of insecticides and very little use of herbicides. Instead, the pheromone confusion method is used against animal pests and the weeds are controlled mechanically (understock brush, coulter).

Adeneuer - Weingutsgebäude

Only physiologically ripe and healthy grapes are processed by selective manual harvesting. The Adeneuers have dedicated themselves to the vinification of purist Pinot Noirs, which come from different terroirs with slate soils over sandy loam to volcanic basalt soils. From the single vineyard sites Alte Lay, Gärkammer and Kräuterberg (Walporzheim), Rosenthal (Ahrweiler) and Sonnenberg (Neuenahr), VDP.GROSSE GEWÄCHSE® are vinified. After careful ageing in barriques, especially the wines in the upper segment are bottled without filtration with a very small amount of new wood (15%). Pinot Blanc sparkling wines are also produced according to the classic bottle fermentation method. The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
