The red grape variety is a new breed between Bellino x Précoce de Malingre, Synonyms are Agostenga Rossa, IP 14, Pirovano 14, blue silk grape (blue silk grape) and red silk grape (red silk grape). The cross was made in 1901 at the research center in Rome by the Italian breeder Alberto Pirovano (1884-1973). According to in 2013 DNA analysis the parentage Bellino x Madeleine Angevine as wrong. The variety is called wine press and table grape used. No stocks were shown in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
