There are almost one hundred locations for training at a forestry and agriculture college (LFS). These are among the vocational medium-sized schools and fall under the competence of the Länder in cooperation with the BMLFUW (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management). The agricultural college in Eisenstadt is a vocational secondary school with a four-year training period. It is offered a sound education in viticulture, cellarry, fruit growing, fruit processing, vegetable production, plant production, agricultural technology, operations management and marketing. Facilities for the internship: Winegrowing winery with modern winery, vegetable production plant with glasshouse and foil houses, fruit orchard, fruit processing room with distillery, trial areas for cereals, wine laboratory, soil laboratory, workshop for metal and woodworking, sales kiosk. At the end of the school the pupils receive the skilled workers' letter in "viticulture and winegrowing" or "agriculture with viticulture, fruit and vegetable cultivation". After three years working in agriculture and attending preparatory courses, the viticulture and cellar master's examination can be taken.
In the school year 2012/13, a postgraduate course for LFS graduates was established for the first time at the HBLA for viticulture and orchards in Klosterneuburg . The higher agricultural and forestry schools provide their graduates with all the knowledge and skills required to carry out senior and senior occupations in agriculture and forestry professions, in addition to university entrance qualifications. They last 5 years and complete with a maturity and diploma examination. After 3 years of high-level professional activity, applicants will be awarded the status of "Ingenieur / in".
