These are among the vocational middle schools and fall within the competence of the federal states in cooperation with the BMLFUW (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management). The agricultural technical school in Eisenstadt is a vocational middle school with a four-year training period. A sound education in viticulture, cellar management, fruit growing, fruit processing, vegetable growing, plant production, agricultural engineering, operational management and marketing is offered. Facilities for the practical are: Winegrower with a modern winery, vegetable plant with glass house and foil houses, fruit plant, fruit processing room with distillery, trial areas for grain growing, wine laboratory, soil laboratory, workshop for metal and woodworking, sales kiosk. At the end of school, the pupils receive the skilled worker letter in "Viticulture and Cellar Management" or "Agriculture with Wine, Fruit and Vegetable Growing". After three years in agriculture and attending preparatory courses, the winegrower and cellar master exam can be taken.
In the school year 2012/13, an advanced training course for LFS graduates at HBLA for wine and fruit growing in Klosterneuburg set up for the first time. The higher agricultural and forestry schools teach their graduates, in addition to their university entrance qualifications, all the knowledge and skills that enable them to perform managerial and high-level jobs in agricultural and forestry professions. They last 5 years and conclude with a matriculation and diploma examination. After 3 years of higher professional activity, the status "engineer" is awarded upon request.
