The estate is located in the municipality Konz-Oberemmel (Saar area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It is owned by Alfred Kirchen. The vineyards cover 8.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Altenberg, Karlsberg and Rosenberg (Oberemmel) in a sheltered side valley at the bottom of the Saar. They are planted to 85% with the Riesling, and the varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. The vines are sometimes up to 50 years old. It is practiced consistently close to nature, environmentally friendly viticulture. The aim is wines with natural flavors that reflect the Lagenterroir. There is a slow to 12 months lasting gentle spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts. In weather-appropriate years, an ice wine is also pressed. There are also bottle-fermented sect, as well as in the in-house distillery fine spirits (yeast, pomace, fruit) and liqueurs produced.
