The wine cooperative
Headquartered in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German wine-growing region Ahr
was created in 1970 by merger of the cooperatives founded in 1873 Winzerverein Dernau and Weinbauverein. As a result, then joined the winegrowing associations Bachem, Bad Neuenahr, Heimersheim and Rech. In 1981 new rooms were built in Bad Neuenahr. Since 1993 the company operates under the name "Ahr Winzer eG". CEO is Friedhelm Nelles, butler is Günter Schüller. Over 600 members manage about 155 hectares of vineyards in the communities Ahrweiler (single layers Rosenthal
), Bachem (sunshine), Bad Neuenahr, Dernau (Burggarten, Hardtberg
), Marienthal, Heimersheim ( Castle garden
, Kapellenberg), Rech and Walporzheim ( Kräuterberg
Among others, the red varieties Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder, Portugieser, Domina, Dornfelder, Regent and Acolon, as well as the white varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Kerner are cultivated. The wines are marketed under "Dagernova". Quality criteria are quality-oriented pruning, professional care of the vineyards and selective hand-picking for the purpose of high-quality grapes. The wines are carefully developed in individual ways according to locations, varieties and quality levels. There are also grape juices, sparkling wines, bottle-fermented sect, spirits (pomace, yeast, plum) and liqueurs produced.
