Ahrweiler - Ahr

The steep vineyards facing south to southwest at 110 to 180 meters above sea level with 30 to 60% slope Tilt cover 29 hectares of vineyards. Remains of a Roman villa were discovered during the construction of the Ahrweiler ring road. Melting furnaces found during the excavations confirm the mining of silver ore, from which the name of the mountain and the individual location are most likely derived. A second variant is based on the name Selberberg, which is the vernacular expression for sage.
