Aigner Wolfgang

The winery is located in the city Krems in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Kremstal, Winegrowing has been practiced by the family for over 200 years now in its ninth generation. A guesthouse opened in 1999 is connected. The company has been managed by Wolfgang Aigner since 1990. In 2006, a new factory building was completed. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vineyards in the layers Frechau, sandpit, Thalland and Weinzierlberg. They are planted to 80% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner (more than half), Riesling, Rivaner, Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller, as well as to 20% with the red varieties Blauburger and Zweigelt. The management is carried out according to the strict guidelines of the Integrated pest management (KIP). There is a targeted yield limitation by thin out around one third of the grapes. The wines are almost exclusively dry and stressed fruity. The premium wines include, for example, various Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Kremstal DAC and Zweigelt. In weather-appropriate years is also a Eiswein vinified. Every year around 60,000 bottles of wine are produced. It also produces brandies. The winery is a member of the vintners' association "Original Krems Wine".
