The red grape variety comes from Georgia, Synonyms are Aladastouri, Anadassaouli, Anadassaouli Femelle, Anadassaouli Male and Anadastouri. The parentage is unknown. The late ripening, productive vine is susceptible to real ones mildew, It produces alcohol-rich red wines of moderate color, often as Rose get extended. The variety is mainly grown in the central west in the region of Imeretia, where it is mainly used as a blend, but also unmixed is used. The acreage in 2010 was 59 hectares with an upward trend; ten years earlier it was 46 hectares (Kym Anderson ).
