The white grape variety originates from Romania. Synonyms are Bisetta, Impuntotato Alba and Imputotato Alba. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Sárfehér x Hamvas. However, this is based on only 19 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). It is an all-female grape variety. The varieties Beala Debela, Frâncușă, Furmint, Javor Groß, Papazkarasi, White Augster and Žilavka have arisen from presumably natural crossings with various partners. No stocks were recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
As honorary chairman of the Domäne Wachau, it is the easiest and quickest way for me to access the wein.plus encyclopaedia when I have questions. The certainty of receiving well-founded and up-to-date information here makes it an indispensable guide.
