Albanella

The white grape variety originates from Italy. Although there are morphological similarities or perhaps also genetic relations to the varieties Albanello, Albaranzeuli Bianco, Greco Bianco and (often confused with it) Trebbiano Toscano, they are five independent vines. A relationship to the Elbling variety is also suspected. The vine yields white wines with good aging potential. It was once widespread in the Marche region. In the province of Pesaro, it is a determining part of the DOC wine Colli Pesaresi Bianco (in older sources, however, Trebbiano Toscano is wrongly indicated). However, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
