The red grape variety comes from Italy, Synonyms are Albarenzeuli Nero, Albarenzelin Nero and Uva Melone. One hypothesis is that they traveled from the Iberian Peninsula during the Spanish occupation between 1323 and 1720 Sardinia was introduced. It becomes a relationship with the white variety Albaranzeuli Bianco supposed. The late-ripening vine produces low-color, low-alcohol and low-acid red wines. It is grown in the province of Nuoro. The acreage in 2010 was 49 hectares (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
