The white grape variety comes from Spain, Synonyms are Albarin Bianco, Blanca del País, Blanco Legítimo, Blanco País, Blanco Verdín, Branca do País, Branco Lexítimo, Raposo and Tinta Fina. Despite apparently suggestive synonyms or similarities, it is not allowed with the varieties Albillo Real. Alfrocheiro (Albarín Negro), Alvarinho. Elbling and Gouais Blanc (both also Blanco Verdín), as well as Savagnin Blanc (was grown in Spain and Australia under the names Albariño and Albarín Blanco). Completed according to 2013 DNA analysis is it from a presumably natural cross between Savagnin Blanc ( Traminer ) x unknown variety emerged.
