Albeisa

Italian term for a special bottle shape in Italian Piedmont that according to the city Alba (Province of Cuneo) is named. It resembles one Burgundy bottle, but has a longer neck and wider shoulders. The color is mostly brown. The Albeisa bottle was introduced as a local trademark at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1973 an Albeisa producer association was founded for the purpose of revival. The Albeisa bottle is used in Piedmont for various DOC / DOCG wines, at Barolo and Barbaresco this is mandatory in the regulations. See also under bottles and wine vessels,
