The winery is located in the municipality of Fumane in the Italian region of Veneto. The Allegrini family has played an important role in viticulture since the 16th century and was one of the largest and most influential landowners in the 17th century. Giovanni Allegrini, who died in 1983, is considered one of the pioneers in the Valpolicella area. Today the estate is owned by his three children Franco, Walter (who took a different path in 2003) and Marilisa. The vineyards cover 70 hectares of vineyards in the Valpolicella Classico area in the three municipalities of Fumane, Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro. The flagship of the house is the IGT "La Grola" (70% Corvina, Rondinella, Sangiovese, Syrah), which comes from a 2.65 hectare site on the top of a hill and is aged in barriques. The grapes are harvested by hand as an extreme late harvest in November. Other top products are the pure IGT "La Poja" (100% Corvina) and the IGT "Palazzao delle Torre" (70% Corvina, Rondinella, Sangiovese), which comes from the 10 hectares of vineyards. All three IGT wines take their name from famous sites. Furthermore, excellent DOC wines Valpolicella are produced in Amarone and Recioto.
