The winery "Bodegas y Viñedos Alto Sotillo" is located in Sotillo de la Ribera (next Burgos) in the DO area Ribera del Duero in the Spanish region Castilla y León. It was founded in 2000 by the Calvo family, who until then had supplied their grapes to various wineries, especially Ismael Arroyo. The bodega is built into the mountain. The vineyards cover 20 hectares and are spread over many different plots in the municipalities of Sotillo de la Ribera and Gumiel de Mercado. They are cultivated in a natural way. The wines are marketed under the name "Rubiejo". Joven (young wine) accounts for about 80% of the production. The second most important wine is the Roble, a Tinta del País (Tempranillo) with five months barrel maturity. Furthermore there is also a Crianza and Reserva. About half of the production is exported.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
