Ambrosi Hans

Dr. Hans Ambrosi (1925-2012) received his PhD in World War II Geisenheim, In 1955 he followed South Africa and worked there for almost eleven years at various wineries as an agricultural engineer and consultant, He followed in 1966 Germany back and became director of the same year Hessian state wineries in the city Eltville appointed in the Rheingau. He was also there for the famous Cistercian monastery Eberbach (one of the domains). In 1966, on his initiative in Rheingau the first Eiswein is produced, which is why he is also known as the "Eisweinkönig". Ambrosi then retired in 1990 and devoted himself more to writing than ever. As the author and editor of around 60 books, he is one of the most widely read wine journalists in Germany.
