Anchialos

Appellation (Ankhialos, Anhialos) south of the port city of Volos on the northwest and west side of the Pagasaean Gulf in the district of Magnisia in the region of Thessaly (Greece). It is named after the town of Nea Anchialos. The vineyards cover about 450 hectares of vines on sandy-loamy soils and are located almost at sea level. The nearby sea has a positive influence on the climatic conditions. The POP white wine is made from the grape varieties Roditis (80%) and Savatiano. It is vinified dry, semi-dry and medium sweet.
