The winery is located in the municipality of St. Justina in the heart of St. Magdalena near Bolzano in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol ( Trentino-South Tyrol region). The traditional estate dates back to the 12th century and was owned by a monastery. It was acquired by the grandfather of the current owner Christian Plattner. In their own small wine museum you can see old tools. The vineyards cover six hectares, 85% of which are planted with the red wine varieties Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon and Rosenmuskateller, and 15% with the white wine variety Sauvignon Blanc. The product range includes wines from the DOC area Südtiroler with the sub-area St. Magdalener. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured in steel tanks, in large wooden barrels and/or in barrique barrels. Annually, 55,000 bottles of wine are marketed. The wines are exported to Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Japan and the USA. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' associations Freie Weinbauern Südtirol and Weingespann.
