The winery is located in the municipality of Cantenac in the Margaux area of the Médoc (Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux). Its origins date back to 1650, when it was owned by Etienne Monteil, the canon of Saint-Émilion. It was from this family that François-Antoine Pouget inherited it in 1748, giving it its current name....
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
