The red variety comes from Greece, Synonyms are Araclinos, Araklino and Raklino. The parentage is unknown. It is believed that they are with the variety Vranac out Montenegro is identical. The medium-maturing vine is very sensitive to drought, It produces alcoholic red wines with moderate acidity. The rare variety is in the west of the Peloponnese and on the Ionian island Kefallonia grown. In 2010, however, no stocks were reported (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
