The red grape variety comes from Greece, Synonyms are araclinos, araklino and raklino. The parentage is unknown. It is believed that they are with the variety Vranac out Montenegro is identical. The medium-ripening vine is very sensitive to drought, It produces alcohol-rich red wines with moderate acidity. The rare variety is found in the west of the Peloponnese and on the Ionian island Kefallonia grown. In 2010, however, no stocks were shown (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
