The white grape variety originates from Armenia. The name refers to the famous mountain Ararat. Synonyms are Achabash, Aciabas, Atchabache, Hachabach, Khatchavach and Taifi. The ancestry (parentage) is unknown. It is mainly used as table grape. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
