Arcelaca

The antique, white grape variety (also Argitis) was from Columella (1st half 1st century) in his textbook " De re rustica " mentioned. The variety is described as particularly robust and fertile, but the wine obtained from it is rather simple and not long-lasting. Some modern authors want him to be the forerunner of Riesling have recognized what by means of DNA analysis proven lineage of Riesling von Heunisch ( Gouais Blanc ) has since been refuted.
