Areti

The white grape variety originates from Greece; the name means advantage, virtue or value. The parentage is unknown. It is cultivated in small quantities on the Ionian island of Zakynthos, where it is used as a blending partner with other autochthonous varieties in the traditional white wine Verdea. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
