The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Aghina de Anzelos di Abbasanta and Argumannu. The parentage is unknown. The late-ripening vine is not very susceptible to fungal diseases. It produces spicy, fruity white wines with aromas of pineapple, citrus, acacia blossom, oranges and roses. It is also used as table grape. The variety is grown all over Sardinia. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
