Argyle

The winery in Dundee, Oregon was founded in 1987 by Australian Brian Croser and Texan Rollin Soles. Soles is responsible for the vinification. At first, shares in the historic Knudsen vineyard were acquired and later additional areas were purchased. The three vineyards Knudsen Vineyard, Stoller Vineyard and Lone Star Vineyard in the North Willamotte Valley comprise 140 hectares of vineyards. They are planted with Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Riesling. Premium wines include "Nuthouse Pinot Noir", "Reserve Merlot", "Willamotte Valley Chardonnay" and "Willamotte Valley Pinot Noir". Sparkling wine is also produced using the Champagne method, for example "Extended Tirage Brut" (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
