Arna-Grna

The white grape variety originates from Azerbaijan. Synonyms are Alagura, Arevik, Arha-Grna and Khana Crna. It is possibly identical with the Armenian variety Arevik Spitak. However, the parentage is unknown. It is a late-maturing, all-female grape variety. It is cultivated in the autonomous republic of Nakhichevan. The variety is also used for grape juice and as table grape. However, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
