The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Alvaranzeniadu Bianco, Alvu Signadu, Argu Ingiannau, Arvesimiadu Bianco, Arvisionadu, Arvu Siniadu, Arvusiniagu, Avrisiniadu and Uva Oschirese. The ancestry (parentage) is unknown. It was already mentioned in 1780. The late-maturing variety is also used as table grape. The white wine is used for blending with other local varieties. It is cultivated on the island of Sardinia in the provinces of Campidano and Sassari. In 2016, 13 hectares of vines were reported with a decreasing trend (Kym Anderson statistics).
