Arvine Grande

The white grape variety originates from the border region Italy/Switzerland. Synonyms are Grande Arvine, Arvine de Martigny and Große Arvine. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2007, it is a presumably natural cross between Rèze x unknown partner (see also under Arvine). The vine, which used to be widespread in the Swiss canton of Valais, is now almost extinct. No population was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
