Aspignan

The two red grape varieties Aspignan 1 (also Galibert Coulondre 239-34) and Aspignan 2 (also Gilbert Coulondre 239-36) are interspecific new crosses between Seyve-Villard 12-401 (Seibel 6468 x Subereux) x Aspiran Noir. Genes of Vitis berlandieri, Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrids were crossed in France by Alfred Galibert and Eric Coulondre. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
