Athos

The "Holy Mount Athos" (Greek Ágion Óros, English Mount Athos) is an Orthodox monastic republic with autonomous status under Greek sovereignty in Greece, It is located on the eastern finger of the same name on the Chalkidikí peninsula in the center of the region Macedonia, There are a total of 20 large monasteries on the Holy Mountain, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
