Auer Leopold

The wine and fruit estate is located in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. It specialises in the cultivation and pressing of old and rare grape varieties and in the distillation of apricots and grapes. The vineyards cover only 0.7 hectares of vineyards, which are planted with the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Zweigelt and Blauburger, as well as the rarities Isabella and Königin Elisabeth. A noble grape brandy is distilled from the latter variety. Another speciality is a Riesling brandy from 1929, which was bottled in 1937, kept in a sealed cellar cavern until 1993 and re-corked this year. A sweet dessert rosé wine is pressed from the Isabella variety (table wine). Apples and apricots are cultivated on 0.25 hectares.
