Colloquial term used in Austria for a particularly dry wine with a content of residual sugar of up to max. 4 g/l. However, this has no legal meaning in wine law and, according to Austrian wine law, may only be used in the form "dry" on the label. Franconian dry has a similar meaning in Franconia (Germany). For other tastes in wine, see the keyword sugar content.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
