The white grape variety is an interspecific new breed between Clinton x Golden Chasselas ( Chasselas ). Synonyms are Arnold 5, Arnold's 5 and Arnold's Hybrid No. 5. They are genes from Vitis labrusca. Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera contain. The crossing of the hybrid was done in Canada in 1859 by Charles Arnold, the spread was from 1870. The variety was considered the best white hybrid cancer, but it is susceptible to mildew, Gray mold ( Botrytis ), Winter cold and the phylloxera, which made them uninteresting for cultivation. No stocks were shown in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
