The white grape variety originates from Georgia. Synonyms are Agiche, Agisci, Ajiche, Ajishi, Aosirhvash, Auasirkhva, Avacarkhva, Avasarkhva, Avassirkhva and Awassirr-Kvachije. The parentage is unknown. The late-maturing vine yields simple white wines. It is cultivated in the northwest of Georgia in the Apkhazeti area. The vine is also used as table grape. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
