One of the ÖWM (Austria Wine Marketing GmbH) and the Austrian Wine Association donated prize for personalities who have acquired special services for the Austrian wine. He gets too much every year Martini on the 11th of November on the occasion of the traditional baptism of wine. The award is intended to express gratitude to those personalities who devote a part of their work to Austrian wine and its culture and who advocate moderate and well-kept wine drinking. This goes hand in hand with the efforts that drinking culture and table culture to the level that a good glass of wine is a real asset to life.
The Bacchus Prize was awarded in 1971 for the first time.
