The wine region in Hungary lies at the western end of the south bank of the Balaton (Balaton). Until 1997 it was called Dél-Balaton. The vineyards on sandy loess soil cover 2,900 hectares of vineyards. Mainly white wines are produced here. Merlot and Kék Burgundi ( Pinot Noir ). Well-known producers are Balatonboglári Borgazdaság, Garamvári Vencel, Konyári János and Légli Ottó.
