Barletta

DOC area for white, rosé and red wines in the Italian region of Apulia. The zone includes the municipalities of Barletta, San Ferdinando di Puglia and Trinitapoli, as well as parts of Andria and Trani in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, the label may indicate Vigna followed by the name of the vineyard. The Bianco is made from at least 60% Malvasia Bianca di Candia. There is also a frizzante, but here it must be at least 90%. The Rosso is blended from Uva di Troia = Nero di Troia (70%), Malbec = Cot (max. 10%), as well as other approved varieties (max. 30%). The Rosato (also as Frizzante) is produced from Uva di Troia (zum. 70%) The pure wines Malvasia Bianca and Nero di Troia must contain at least 90% of the respective variety.
