Beaunoir

The red variety comes from France, Synonyms are Beaunoire, Cep Gris, Mourillon, Pinot d'Aï, Pinot d 'Ailly, Pinot d'Orleans and Sogris. She may not with the ampelographisch similar sibling Bachet Noir be confused. According to the year 1999 DNA analysis it is one of the numerous natural crossings between Gouais blanc x Pinot, The early ripening vine produces light-colored, low-alcohol red wines of simple character. These are not approved for quality wines. The almost extinct variety is grown in the northeastern Département Aube. In 2010, however, no stocks were reported in the official statistics.
