The winery is located in the municipality of Mainz-Ebersheim ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The family, rich in tradition, has been growing grapes for centuries. After graduating in viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim in 2002, Marco W. Becker runs the winery with his wife Alexandra. The guiding principle of the business, or rather the family, is: Our passion for your enjoyment - passion, for our passion, for our home, for our life, with, around and for our wines.

The vineyards comprise 17 hectares of vines on mainly loess-loam and clay-marl soils in the single vineyard sites Kreuzberg, Leidhecke, Silberberg (Bodenheim), Hüttberg, Sand, Weinkeller (Ebersheim), Herrnberg, Kellersberg (Gau-Bischofsheim), Fuchsloch, Herrgottspfad, Ölberg (Gau-Odernheim), Lieth, Schlossberg (Harxheim), Ölgild (Lörzweiler), Kloppenberg (Mommenheim), Schmittskapellchen (Nackenheim), and Kapellenberg (Ober-Olm). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe, Faberrebe, Kerner, Huxelrebe, Saphira and Ortega, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Blauer Portugieser, Regent and Dornfelder.

The vineyards are cultivated in an environmentally friendly manner with a focus on sustainability. This includes damage threshold analysis, weather-dependent cover crop, and natural fertilisation with manure, straw and green manure. Quality-enhancing measures in elaborate manual work include targeted pruning, defoliation, thinning out of shoots and grapes. All wines are fermented spontaneously and sealed with corks (natural corks). The red wines go through a classic maceration mostly with must removal and are bottled in July/August. The white wines are fermented with gentle pressing of the grapes without pre-maceration after sedimentation, stored for a long time on the fine yeast and bottled mostly from April/May.

The house's premium wines include Ortega Trockenbeerenauslese, Gewürztraminer Herrnberg and Riesling Auslese trocken. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced, as well as noble sweet selections and ice wines in years with suitable weather conditions. Around 3,000 cases of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the associations Generation Riesling, Netzwerk Nachhaltiger Weinbau, Wine in Moderation, BWV, Kultur-und Weinbotschafter von Rheinhessen and Lernort Bauernhof.
