The white grape variety originates from Lebanon. Synonyms are Asba el Arus, Bairuti, Baitamouni, Beita Mouni, Betamuni, Beytamouni, Foga, Nychato, Rich Baba Sam, Safadi and Zeini Sheik. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Samanci Cekyrdeksyzy x unknown variety. The variety is used for the production of table grapes, arrack and wine. However, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
