Appellation in the Alpes-Maritimes in the very east of the French wine-growing region Provence near the border too Italy, The vineyards cover about 60 hectares of vineyards at 200 to 400 meters above sea level above Nice. Red wine and rosé are from the main varieties Braquet Noir, Fuella ( Fuella Nera ) and Cinsault, as well as a maximum of 40% Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ) and varieties authorized for white wine. Well-known producers include Château de Bellet, Château de Crémat, Clos Nicea, Clos Saint Vincent, Domaine de Bovis, Domaine St Jean (see below), Domaine de la Source, Domaine de Toasc and Domaine de Vinceline.
