The red grape variety comes from Spain, Synonyms are Tinta Femia and Tinta Femia de Aldan. The parentage is unknown. According to 2012 done by Javier Ibáñez DNA analysis is from a probably natural cross between Albillo Mayor x Benedicto the variety Tempranillo emerged. In 2010, no stocks were shown for the variety (Kym Anderson ).
