The winery is located in the municipality of Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. Viticulture has been practised in the family for many generations. A wine tavern is attached. The family business is owned by Klaus and Edith Berweiler. Daughter Sandra has been responsible for the cellar since her training as a master winemaker. The vineyards cover four hectares in the Klostergarten (Leiwen), Rosengärtchen (Neumagen) and Held (Pölich) vineyards. They are mainly planted with Riesling and Pinot Noir. Particular importance is attached to natural cultivation and selective harvesting of the grapes. After a strong pre-clarification of the grape must, a slow, controlled fermentation follows. In suitable years, noble sweet Beerenauslese and ice wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (marc, mirabelle) and liqueurs (peach) are also produced.
