Beulsberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Urbar in the German wine-growing region of the Middle Rhine. It was mentioned in 1719 as "Beyell". The name refers to a protruding, hatchet-shaped piece of rock. The southeast-facing vineyard at an altitude of 165 to 240 metres above sea level with a slope of 20 to 55% covers three hectares of vines on weathered slate soil with clay components. Only Riesling is cultivated here. Members of the Urbar winegrowers' cooperative, for example, own shares in the site.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
