Bianco d'Alessano

The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Acchiappapalmento, Beretinjak, Beretinjok Bijeli, Bianco di Alessano, Bianco d'Assano, Bianco di Latiano, Bianco di Lessame, Bianco di Valdigna, Bretinjak, Butta Palmento, Iuvarello, Selvaggio, Tikvar Bijeli, Verdurino, Vuiono, Vuoino and Vuoiono. The parentage is unknown. The medium-late ripening vine yields a straw-yellow, acidic white wine. It is cultivated in the Apulia region on 38 hectares with a strong downward trend. There it is permitted in the DOC wines Gravina, Lizzano, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Ostuni. In Australia, there is a stand of 1 hectare. In 2016, 39 hectares of vines were designated hectares of vines (Kym Anderson).
