Cold mixed drink (also called Cold Bishop), which is produced in the manner of a punch. White wine, red wine or sweet wine is used. Fresh orange or grapefruit peels are slightly browned over a fire and then left to steep in the respective wine with cinnamon and cloves. Then the remaining ingredients are mixed with lots of crushed ice and garnished with various fruits. These can be liqueur, bitter orange syrup, spirits (rum, bourbon), lemon or orange juice, fruit pieces (pineapple, strawberry, cherry, peach, grape) and spices (caraway, ginger). Depending on the wine used, there are also the locally different names Cardinal or Pope. See also under mixed wine drinks.
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
