The Federal Winery Inspectorate or BKI (Consultation - Control - Information) is a department of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. It is responsible for monitoring compliance with wine legislation. This includes, for example, the control of compliance with the maximum yield by means of the producers of vineyard areas to be reimbursed harvest declarations (see under earnings ). The aim is to ensure a high quality of wine for the consumer and an orderly framework for fair competition in the wine industry. The main tasks are controls and advice in viticulture enterprises.
