Black Alois

The estate is located in the municipality Schrattenberg in the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel, It is run by Alois Schwarz and his son Reinhold. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards. They are 75% with the red varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Blue Portuguese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, and 25% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer and Chardonnay planted. Yield-reducing quality criteria in the vineyard are corresponding pruning, leaf work, thin out and selective hand-picking. The wines are matured depending on the desired type of wine in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or barrels. The premium wines include, for example, the red wine cuvée "Grande Reserve" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zweigelt, Syrah) and Weinviertel DAC (Green Valtellina).
