Black Defiance

The red grape variety (also Underhill 8-8) is an interspecific new breed between Concord x Black Prince, The variety was created with the same parents Black Eagle, They are genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera contain. The crossing of the hybrid was done in the USA in 1866 by the breeder Stephen W. Underhill. In the course of phylloxera disaster it came to Europe and was also ennobled in Austria from the beginning of the 20th century direct carrier grown.
